Emilio Nsue, top scorer at the AFCON 2023, may no longer wear the jersey of the Equatorial Guinea national team. The 34-year-old striker, scorer of 5 goals during the competition, has just been suspended by the Equatorial Guinea Football Federation (Feguifoot) for misconduct during the AFCON. Officials accuse Emiliano Nsue of several "episodes of serious indiscipline and an unpleasant incident which led to a deterioration in the reputation and image of the national team and Equatorial Guinea".
The press release announces an immediate and indefinite sanction. Nsue was not the only player suspended. His team-mate, the midfielder Ivan Salvador, was also pinned for virtually the same reasons.
