Gambia have a new coach, following the departure of Belgian Tom Saintfiet (50), who resigned after the Scorpions were eliminated in the 1st round of the AFCON in Côte d'Ivoire. The new coach is Sang Ndong (66), a former Gambian international who has held the position of National Technical Director for the last three years. The former Banjul Hawks player had already coached the national team on three previous occasions (1992-1994, 1994-2003 and 2016-2018).
