Ghana lost their last two friendlies during the October international break. The first defeat came against Mexico (2-0) and the second against the USA (4-0). These setbacks drew fierce criticism in Ghana. Coach Chris Hughton is in the firing line. Although he is currently being called into question, the Irish coach has been able to count on the support of former Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand. On a visit to Ghana, the England international believes that the Black Stars are in good hands, but that it will take time for things to fall into place.
"In soccer, whether it's an international or domestic tournament, anything can happen. So sometimes you're not at your best and you end up getting good results. Sometimes you're in top form and you end up not being up to the task. I think the last two tests in the United States and Mexico have been good tests because they're different, you know, different styles of soccer and different opposition. So I think the team is in good hands with Chris Hughton. I'm sure that by the tournament they'll be ready," said Bertrand in an exclusive interview with 3Sports.
