After the 1st list of the first 100 Golden Boy nominees, the trophy management reduced its selection to 25 players on Thursday October 12. And among the 25 players are 2 African players, Ivorian Ousmane Diomandé who plays for Sporting Portugal and Moroccan Bilal El Khanouss from Genk.
Bilal El Khanouss was awarded a Wild Card, meaning that he and 4 other players were chosen by the Tuttosport editorial team, which awards the trophy. The other 20 players were selected using the Football Benchmark analysis tool.
An international jury will now deliberate to determine the winner. It is made up of 50 journalists from all over Europe. The winner will be announced at a press conference in November. Gavi won the trophy in 2022.
