Eight years after leaving OM, André Ayew is back in Ligue 1. Free of any contract since July, the Ghanaian striker has signed for Le Havre. The emblematic captain of the Ghanaian national team was introduced to the Normandy public on Saturday, during the match against Monaco on Matchday 12 of Ligue 1 (0-0).
After two seasons with Al-Sadd in Qatar, the 33-year-old striker opted to return to England in February 2023 to join Nottingham Forest, where he made 13 Premier League appearances.After being courted in Turkey, Saudi Arabia and MLS last summer, the Ghanaian opted for Le Havre. He will be a major asset for the club, which has made a good start to the season. Le Havre are currently in 7th place in the French league. What's more, Ayew will be able to prepare for the 2023 African Cup of Nations.
