Morocco: PSG opens a fund for disaster victims

Morocco is going through difficult times with an earthquake that has claimed more than 3,000 lives. Faced with this tragedy, Paris SG has decided to open a fund to support the victims.

"Faced with the tragedy affecting Morocco, Paris Saint-Germain is mobilizing. For its match against OGC Nice on September 19, the club will donate one euro per ticket to show its full support for the people of Morocco. The club wishes to engage its fans by creating this call for donations in partnership with the Fondation de France, one of the very first organizations to mobilize. With over 10 years' experience working alongside associations and local players, and with a particular focus on the place of young people and women in society, the Fondation de France now intends to rapidly deploy actions to help the victims," reads the club's press release.

On the night of September 8, 2023, a magnitude 7 earthquake struck Morocco, killing over 3,000 people, injuring hundreds and leaving thousands homeless.
