Although they are due to take part in a UEFA-organized competition to be held in Spain (U16 Youth Development Tournament), Nigeria's U16s have had their visa applications refused. The information comes from the Nigerian Football Federation. No reason was given in advance. The officials who were to accompany them were also denied travel. The Spanish authorities have yet to comment on the matter.
The UEFA Under-16 Youth Development Tournament has been running since 2012. This year, Nigeria were due to take on Belgium on Friday April 12. Then, Italy and England were to be on the Nigerians' menu.
⚠️ Players and officials of the Nigeria U15 team, Future Eagles, have been denied visas by the Spanish Embassy and will therefore not be travelling to take part in the UEFA U16 Development Tournament starting on Friday.
