South Africa have chosen their men for the defense of their title. As the Rugby World Cup kicks off in just over a month's time (September 8 to October 28), the defending champions have released a list of 33 players for the tournament in France. First and foremost, captain Siya Kolisi is on the list, although he was doubtful for some time due to injury. However, coach Jacques Nienaber will be without three 2019 world champions. Opener Handré Pollard and center Lukhanyo Am are injured, while second row Lood de Jager is ill.
At the World Cup, South Africa will be in Group B. The Springboks face Scotland on September 10 in their opening game. Romania, Ireland and Tonga follow.
