According to The Athletic, Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu has been dropped from the first team due to his lack of commitment. The report also suggests that it is increasingly unlikely that the 23-year-old center-back will extend his contract with the club. His contract is due to expire in June 2024.
Salisu's future at Southampton is therefore uncertain. It is even reported to Newcastle United or Manchester United interested in signing the talented defender. Salisu joined Southampton in 2020 from Real Valladolid in Spain. This season, the Accra native has made 22 Premier League appearances.
