Women's WC 2023 - Nigeria-Ashleigh Plumptre: "We can create a surprise''

The 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup will take place in Australia and New Zealand from July 20 to August 20. And Nigeria is housed in Group B alongside Canada, Australia and the Republic of Ireland. A group that is likely to be playable for the Super Falcons.

For the central defender Ashleigh Plumptre, Nigeria is capable of creating the surprise in this competition even if she has some apprehensions. "We know that we will face very good competition. The pressure will be from Canada and Australia. We have incredible talent in this team, so we will certainly perform well. I think we can spring a surprise (at the World Cup)," said Plumptre, who has made nine appearances for the Super Falcons. The latter played her first 2022 Women's AFCON in Morocco.
