Kenya Athletics president Jackson Tuwei has been elected vice-president of World Athletics (WA). This at the 54th World Athletics Congress held in Budapest, Hungary, on Thursday. Tuwei won one of the four vice-president positions. Former Colombian sprinter Ximena Restrepo, retired Spanish triple jumper Raul Chapado and former Indian sprinter Adille Sumariwalla were the others elected. Tuwei is also senior vice-president of the Confederation of African Athletics. He is also President of the East African Athletics Region. He is also a member of the World Athletics World Calendar Committee.
