Falilatou Tchanile-Salifou, President of the Togolese Athletics Federation named "Woman of the Year" at the World Athletics Awards 2023.
She is being rewarded for her dedication to promoting women's rights and gender equality in sport. She is the driving force behind a number of campaigns within this framework, including "Girls together for sport and for life", which encourages women's participation in sport and raises awareness among girls in Togo's most remote regions. The "Program to promote women's sport in Togo", with a women's race that attracted 1,500 participants from all over Togo, is also to her credit. She also initiated the "Feminization of Governing Bodies" project, aimed at combating stereotypes and promoting women in leadership roles in her country.
