The Diamond League is organized by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). It replaces the Golden League which was held from 1998 to 2009. The Diamond League takes place every year since 2010 and includes 15 international meetings and crowns a winner each year in 16 disciplines of athletics.
In 2020, the Diamond League could not take place normally because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The 12th edition of the Mohammed VI International Meeting of the Diamond League will be held on May 23, 2021. It will be the opening meeting of the season.
