2022 GPL Match Day 24: Asante Kotoko gets the bragging right over Hearts

Ghana Premier league Week 24 got intense with a lot of teams dropping points when it matters the most and others grabbing all points at ease.

On Saturday, Accra lions  defeated Karela United 1-0 to grab all three points thanks to Frederick Asante's header while Ashanti Gold pipped struggling WAFA 6-0 at Obuasi.

Meanwhile, Accra Great Olympics returned to their winning ways as they ended Aduana's winning streak with a 2-1 scoreline thanks to a late strike from Arnold Abbey Mensah.

Elsewhere in Elmina, king Faisal had the shock of their lives as relegation-threatened Elmina Sharks hammered them 1-0 in front of their home fans.

Berekum Chelsea also pipped Legon Cities 1-0 at the Golden City Park in Berekum.

Asante Kotoko opened a eight point lead on the league table, after beating their rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak by a lone goal through their  Frank Etuoga Mbella from the spot at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday. The porcupine warriors have made their intentions clear to clinch the league trophy as they occupy the peak with 52points.

Asante Kotoko now leads Hearts Of Oak with 16 points with 12 games at hand to end the season.
