AFCON 2021: Why Cameroon will beat Egypt

Cameroon should beat Egypt this Thursday in the semi-finals of the CAN 2021. Hosts of the competition, three factors argue in favor of the Indomitable Lions. Explanation.

Cameroon already in the final of the AFCON 2021? Such a scenario could come true as early as this Thursday. The Indomitable Lions are expected to beat Egypt in the semi-finals. And three factors militate in their favor.

The support of the public
Playing at home has many advantages. Cameroon will be able to count on its public who will come en masse to the Olembe Stadium in Yaounde. And there is no need to worry when you play in a stadium with a capacity of 60,000 seats. The twelfth man will be present in the stands. The Indomitable Lions had asked the Cameroonian fans to come out, they will be served on Thursday night. The Olembe stadium will be packed and decked out in the colors of the Cameroon national team. And the players have no intention of disappointing the Cameroonian people. They will give their all to defeat Egypt and win this AFCON on home soil.

Vincent Aboubacar, a killer
Vincent Aboubakar is the top scorer of the Cameroonian team (and also of the competition) in this AFCON with six goals. But the Indomitable Lion plays a key role in this team. He embodies serenity, he is the regulator of this selection. Vincent Aboubakar is the real leader on and off the field. "He is an example on and off the pitch. He always has the right words to motivate his teammates," revealed coach Antonio Conceiçao. And the Egyptian national team has remembered his name. It is the same Aboubakar who had crucified Egypt in the final of the CAN 2017. He scored the winning goal in the 88th minute. The Pharaohs are therefore warned.

A formidable offensive weapon
Cameroon is so far the best attack of this AFCON. The Indomitable Lions have scored 11 goals in five games. And everyone can score. Even if it is only Karl Toko Ekambi and Vincent Aboubakar who have distinguished themselves in this selection. The two have scored five and six goals respectively. The Cameroonian attack can upset any defense.
