Head coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, Chris Hughton has called on Ghanaians to support the ongoing Ghana Premier league season in their own way.
Hughton urged all Ghanaians to patronize the League known as the betPawa Premier league and attend as many match venues as they can.
"I urge everybody to follow the betPawa Premier league and watch as many games as possible as i will do", he told GFA communications.
Chris Hughton is keen on having local players in the future Black Stars squad and has since began a nationwide tour, visiting several betPawa Premier league match venues just as he promised during his unveiling.
The former Irish international revealed that will be watching games to recommend players who may be suitable for the other national teams, such as the U-23, U-20, and U-17 teams as revealed in an interview by the Communications Director of the GFA, Asante Twum.
The Newcastle manager was appointed as the head coach of the Black Stars for 21 months after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Before his appointment, Hughton was named the GFA as the Technical Advisor of the Black Stars for the 2022 World Cup.
Coach Hughton did not name a local player in his past Black Stars squads but has assured Ghanaians of a possible inclusion of local players in future call-ups.
Ghana will return to action in June as they take on Madagascar in their fifth match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
