Coach Yussif Basigi and Nana Adarkwah speaks ahead of Women Premier league clash of champions

Coach of Hasaacas Ladies, Yusif Basigi and Ampem Darkoa Ladies, Joe Nana Adarkwa exchanged pleasantries ahead of league finals

Hasaacas Ladies FC will be facing defending champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC on Friday, 12th May 2023 in the grand finale of the 2022/2023 Ghana Women’s Premier League.

To work their way back to a reclaim their lost title, the Hasmal ladies will face in tough test in the second most successful side in the history of the competition, Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Complex in Abrankese.

Speaking to the media ahead of the big clash, coach of Hasaacas Ladies, Yussif Basigi revealed that he has a special tactics to beat the Nanamma even though they might try to be a bit difficult to play.

"We are much ready for the big ahead. Ampem Darkoa Ladies will not take it lightly with us but we are really poised for this. We will take our chances and we will not allow them to play their game", he told the press.

"This is a clash of old rivals and we expect the fans to troop in their numbers to witness good football", he added.

Head coach of Ampem Darkoa Ladies, Joe Nana Adarkwah however believed that his side has what it takes to be champions despite losing some of their key players in the transfer window.

He further stated that they would like to return to represent Ghana at the WAFU B championship as well as the main CAF Women Champions League.

"We've had a very tough season due to some reasons. We lost some of our key players to foreign clubs in the transfer window and it really affected us but we managed to win the Northern zone. We are continuing from where we left off and our fans shouldn't expect anything but victory".

"We are working behind the scenes and everything will be evident on the field of play and we have to win and go back to represent Ghana at the WAFU B championship" he told GFA news.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies will take on Hasaacas Ladies FC as they battle for supremacy of who really is the champion of the 2023 Malta Guinness Women Premier league season.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies topped the Northern Zone with 31 points (9 wins, 4 draws & 5 defeats) after 18 league games whiles Hasaacas Ladies FC also won the Southern Zone with 39 points(12 Wins, 3 Draws & 3 Defeats), beating Faith Ladies FC in their final fixture to be crowned champions of their zone.

Yussif Basigi's side have won the tittle on five occasions(2012/2013, 2013/2014, 2014/2015, 2019/2020 & 2020/2021) whiles Ampem Darkoa Ladies are three times champions, having won it in (2015/2016, 2016/2017 & 2021/2022).

Ampem Darkoa Ladies will take on Hasaacas Ladies FC as they battle for supremacy of who really is the champion of the 2023 Malta Guinness Women Premier league season.

The winner will take home a cash prize of GHC50,000 whilst the runner-up takes GHC30,000.
