The 2022/2023 Ghana Women’s elite kicked off this weekend across the country with some exciting results.
The League known as the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League started on Friday at the Aliu Mahama Sports when PearlPia Ladies welcomed Prisons Ladies. The game ended goalless.
The action continued on Saturday snd Sunday at the various centres as football advocates were served with impressive performances.
At the Bantama Astro Turf on Saturday, Supreme Ladies FC thrashed newbies Candy Soccer Academy by 5:0.
A brace from Linda Owusu Ansah and three other goals from Patience Afriyie, Felicity Asante and Foriwaa Thompson was enough as Supreme Ladies recorded the biggest victory on matchday 1.
Hasaacas Ladies starts their season with a hard fought 1-0 victory over Berry Ladies at the Gyandu Park in Sekondi. Doreen Copson's second half strike was enough to win all for Coach Basigi's side.
Elsewhere at the Madina Astro Turf on Sunday afternoon, Ridge City Women FC suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat in the cold hands of Essiam Socrates FC.
Defending champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies drew 1-1 at home with Northern Ladies. Tracy Twum scored for the defending champions before Mary Rose Akunne equalized for the Northern side.
