Comprehensive wrap up of Ghana Premier League match day five

Kotoko clash with Samartex in Kumasi

Ghana Premier league Week 5 got intense with a lot of teams dropping points when it matters the most and others grabbing all points at ease.

On Saturday, Accra Hearts of Oak made a short trip to Cape Coast to lock horns with newly promoted side Kotoku Royals. Daniel Afriyie Barnieh gave the Phobians the lead from the spot and it was enough to earn them the maximum three points while Bibiani Gold Stars pipped the struggling King Faisal 2-at Dun's Park.

Meanwhile, Accra Lions continued their 100 percent home record in the Ghana Premier when they beat Nsoatreman 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Elsewhere in Berekum, Berekum Chelsea had the shock of their lives as relegation-threatened Real Tamale United came from behind to hammer them 2-1 in front of their home fans. Karela also pipped Bechem United 1-0 at the CAM Park in Aniyinase.

Asante Kotoko came from behind to clinch all three points against Samatex at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Samatex scored with 3 minutes into the second half. Asante Kotoko switched gears and equalized courtesy Nicholas Mensah before Augustine Agyapong finished the comeback with a sublime free kick.
