Match day five of the 2022/2023 Ghana Women’s Premier League has ended across all league centers. Hasaacas Ladies continues their magical run in the Southern Zone as they are unbeaten in their five league games this season. Police Ladies finally recorded their first victory of the season over the weekend at the Robert Mensah Sports stadium.
Southern Zone
League leaders, Hasaacas Ladies maintains their dominance at the Southern zone with a 4-0 victory over Ridge City Women FC at the Gyandu Park on Saturday. In-form Doreen Copson shot coach Basigi's side ahead in the 32nd minute in what went on to be a demolishing exercise.
Veronica Kumah Baah added the second in the 48th minute before Firdous Yakubu sealed the victory with a brace in the 73rd and 76th minute.
Ridge City FC are still in search of their very first win of the season having lost three of their last five games and drawn two.
Police Ladies FC have finally grabbed a victory in the fifth attempt this season. The security service team who are without a win this season, managed a 3-0 victory over LadyStrikers at the Robert Mensah Sports stadium.
Goals from Bernice Appreh Arhinful, Jane Ayieyam and Deborah Afriyie were enough to secure Police Ladies first victory of the season.
Northern Zone
Ampem Darkoa Ladies are back on top of the league table following their 4-0 victory over leaders Pearl Pia Ladies over the weekend. Ophelia Serwah Amponsah broke the deadlock of the game in the 10th for the Nanamma before Mary Amponsah added the second in the 35th minute, ending the first half with a comfortable 2-0 lead.
Back from recess, the home side doubled their effort in search of more goals which resulted in a 76th minute strike from Victoria Osei. Mary Amponsah showed up again to complete her brace with a 90th minute goal to ensure Ampem Darkoa Ladies wins by huge margin at home.
At the Aliu Mahama sports stadium, Northern Ladies FC emerged victors in a 7goal thriller as they defeated Candy Soccer Academy by 5-2. Northern Ladies who were with just a victory this season managed to record their second of the campaign with a huge margin.
A brace from Faiza Seidu, two goals from Abdul Rahman and Pearl Forson with an own goal from Florence Baah Appiah was enough to win it for the Tamale based club. Perpetual Tuah's 80th minute goal from the spot kick and Florence Baah's 66th minute goal weren't enough to save the premier league debutants.
