Ghana Women’s Premier League match day six: Army Ladies ends Hasaacas Ladies unbeaten run as Ampem Darkoa Ladies beats Candy Soccer Academy in an 8-goal thriller

It was a mix feeling weekend at the Northern zone on match day 6 of the Malta Guinness Women Premier league.Pearl Pia Ladies on Friday sat at home to Tamale Super Ladies at the Aliu Mahama sports stadium.

Georgina Ayisha Aoyem gave the home side the lead in the 15th minute with Francisca Torkudzor adding the second goal from the spot in the 29th minute. Forward Francisca Torkudzor got her double of the afternoon with a 48th minute strike to seal the victory for the home side.

Dreamz Ladies FC on Saturday defeated Ashtown Ladies FC by 2-0 at the Bantama Astro Turf. Sarah Nyarko's 9th minute strike and Stella Nyamekye's 42nd minute goal from the spot was enough to win it all for the home side.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies matches on with yet again a spectacular performance in their game against Candy Soccer Academy. The Nanamma became victors in an 8 goal thriller at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa.

Both Ophelia Serwah Amponsah and Mary Amponsah bagged hat tricks for the visitors after an explosive afternoon whiles Perpetual Tuah got the consolation goals for Candy Soccer Academy.

Southern zone

Faith Ladies FC produced a comeback to defeat Police Ladies FC in a 5goal thriller at the Achimota School Park. Mary Berko shot Police Ladies ahead in the first minute of the game with a beautiful finish to set the home side on a good path.

Maafia Nyame levelled things for Faith ladies in the 14th minute but Grace Animah's 37th minute goal ensured the security service team ends the first half in their favor. Back from recess, the visitors came in knocking for the equalizer which eventually yielded in the 56th minute through Mafia Nyame.

Portia Nana Prempeh won it for Faith Ladies FC in the 63rd minute as she slotted home a beautiful shot to hand the visitors the maximum three points.

At the Elwark sports stadium on Saturday afternoon, Hasaacas Ladies unbeaten run came to an end as they were put to the sword by Army Ladies FC. Nancy Opoku shot the homeside ahead in the 18th minute with a powerful goal, beating the defensive setup of the western giants.

Coach Basigi's side fell again in the 45th minute when Erica Appiah showed up and beat goalkeeper Grace Banwa to slot home Army Ladies second of the afternoon.

Hasaacas Ladies came back in the second half in search of a goal but all results proved futile, handing them their first defeat of the season after match day 6.
