The Black stars of Ghana have defeated Switzerland by 2-0 in their last friendly encounter ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The game which took place on Thursday morning at the Al Nahyan stadium in Abu Dhabi saw the Black Stars beating Switzerland by 2-0.
Coach Otto Addo handed Brighton and Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey, Lens midfielder Abdul Salis and Daniel Afriyie Barnie their first Black Stars start.
Accra Hearts of Oak forward Daniel Afriyie Barnie came close to breaking the deadlocks of the game but saw his shot saved by Jann Sommer in the early minutes of the game.
The in-form attacker again was fouled in the 18yard box but shouts for a penalty call was ignored by the referee with the first half ending in a goalless draw.
Back from recess, the Black Stars kept knocking on the door for the opener. Inaki Williams sent in a long cross which was missed by inches by Daniel Afriyie Barnie.
Southampton center back Mohammed Salisu finally opened the scoring account with a header for the Black Stars in the 69th minute.
Antoine Semenyo in the 72nd minute chanced on a loose ball and slotted home his first ever goal for the black stars.
The stars came close to getting their 3rd of the afternoon but saw Alidu Seidu's shot denied by Jan Sommer in the 88th minute.
The game ended with a 2-0 victory for the Black Stars over Switzerland and they will be looking forward to going into their World Cup opener with same performance.
The Black stars will face Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay in Group H of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and will commence their campaign with a super clash with 2014 World Cup opponents Portugal on November 24 before playing South Korea and Uruguay respectively.
