After the World Cup break, South Africa's DSTV Premier Soccer League resumed action last Friday December 30th. Richards Bay FC who are trailing Sundowns on the table log had their work made tough when leaders Mamelodi Sundowns beat Pirates 2-0 on Friday.
Goals from Mothobi Mvala 41' and Cassius Mailula 63' sealed the deal for the current champions who look to continue their vacation spray at the top of the table.

Cape Town City FC can thank their new striker from Cameroon, Bertrand Junior Mani who got the opener for his side against Royal AM. The striker only joined the club a few weeks back from Cameroon and now has a goal to his credit. The game ended 2-1.
Stellenbosch and Chippa United shared the spoils 1-1 Junior Mendieta 50' and Azola Matrose 62' respectively.
Maritzburg United continued her point sharing mood at the bottom of the table after loosing at home to TS Galazy 3-0. Interestingly all three goals were scored by the visitors as Djakaridja Traore scored an own goal in favor of United 38 minutes into the game. Two minutes later he made reparation and got the equalizer before later scoring the winner in the second half 77'.
Supersports United kept the pace at the top of the log with a narrow 1-0 win over Gallants as Onismor Bhasera 56' got the lone goal.
The rest of the games were played on Saturday December 31. Kaiser Chiefs defeated Golden Arrows 2-0 on the road with goals from Bonfils Bimenyimana 14' and Edmilson Dove 37'.
Richards Bay knowing fully well of Sundown's win over Pirates, had to get nothing short of victory. In deed they got an early lead against Swallows, Tshepo Mabua 11'. The goal turned out to be the decider of the match.
Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu played a goalless draw
