Yusuf names 8 NPFL players in 30-man Nigeria squad for Mexico, Ecuador friendlies  

Ojo Olorunleke makes Nigeria squad

Super Eagles' First Assistant Coach, Salisu Yusuf has included eight players from the Nigeria Professional Football League in the list of 30 players, including Enyimba goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke for the prestigious international friendly matches against the senior men national teams of Mexico and Ecuador in the United States of America.

Besides Olorunleke, Akwa United goalkeeper Adewale Adeyinka, defender Ibrahim Buhari, and forwards Victor Mbaoma and Ishaq Rafiu. Yusuf were the included eight home–based professional players. 

The 30-player squad, also included captain Ahmed Musa and forward Moses Simon as the three–time African champions will face CONCACAF powerhouse Mexico at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, State of Texas on Saturday, 28 th  May.

They will later fly to New Jersey to tackle Ecuador at the Red Bull Arena in Harrison on Thursday, 2 nd  June.

According to the NFF statement, only 25 players will make the final cut for the tour, which is preparatory to next month's 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Sierra Leone and São Tomé & Príncipe.

After a painful FIFA World Cup miss, the Super Eagles will welcome in Abuja om9 th June before a visit to in Marrakech, Morocco (13 th  June).
